I have new found respect for journalists. And journalist has become my new dream-day-job. When I first arrived in Nigeria, and took the photo of the airport, the police stopped me and asked me if I was a journalist. I knew right then, that the correct answer is 'NO'. And it was easy for me to answer 'NO' because I'm not a journalist anyway. But if I was, it would have been much more difficult. It's either I answer, "YES. I'm a journalist." and face the consequences, whatever they may be, or I lie and feel ashamed and guilty about it later. Journalists risk their lives trying to get a story... And in fact, many of them die doing their job... I'm not going into details on what they do, because it should be obvious: They report the truth. And these days, truth is hard to find, and even harder to report... So, I salute you, journalists of all press, and of all nations. I hail you as my new super-hero, and I give you the title of J-MAN! May God bless you and watch over you wherever you go... (especially if you goto Nigeria.) |
