More than 100,000 people flooded the streets of Burma's biggest city on Monday, joining Buddhist monks in the strongest show of dissent against the military junta in nearly two decades. The enormous show of strength drew a rebuke from the military government which threatened to "take action" against the monks, even as world leaders and the UN secretary general urged the junta to show restraint.
