HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHINA

Over five thousand years,
A banner will be given to you with a feeling of joy and pride
My dear motherland, China

This is my beautiful Motherland,
A place where I was born;
On this vast expanse of land,
Enchanting sceneries are here and there

This is my heroical Motherland,
A place where I grow up;
on this ancient land,
the power of youth is all around.

I will no longer crawl,
I will no longer be subjected to slavery,
My monument in the new China,
Straight into a stand of trees.
Trees,
I am just an ordinary tree.

I am just a normal tree
standing with my brothers and sisters to hold off the coming storm and sand
for my motherland even though our lips become weather-shacked and our face turn blue

I am just a normal tree,
Standing with my brothers and sisters
To put up a stalwart front to protect my motherland

****
I love you, China

Since the day I was born

I began to have a proud name—Chinese.

Since the day I began to talk

The most beautiful sentence I've ever learnt has been “I love you China!"

I love you China and I’m so proud of being a Chinese.

I’m proud that I’ve got the beautiful yellow skin, black eyes and black hair.

I’m also proud that I speak the most beautiful language in the world—Chinese.

I love you China for I can feel the deep love you give me every day

I’m proud of you, China.

I love you, China.

-- to the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China

peacefulness, I meant to write 中囯. I got home late last night after some snooker games with some friends. Thanks for correcting.

I don't know if Taiwan calls itself 中华民囯 anymore.

I just finished watching 全球华人中秋大联欢 at the shenzhang (深圳) channel (always have trouble spelling 深圳!). What a stage setup and performance! There were both adults and children performing - the Chinese from Taiwan, HK, Macau, and even from Korea.

Piset

I remember the days when the teachers and students learning Chinese language with the private teachers at their homes had to sneak out the back door when the police came to catch the "communists" (meaning teaching Chinese language)

I remember how I passed the chinese documents to others pretending that I could not translate it, in a small way revenging the ministry of education's suppression of Chinese language teaching.

Without a strong motherland, you would be underdog everywhere at the mercy of the local racist laws.

虎出南阳被犬欺, 龙游浅水给虾戏。

I still remember that Thai basketball team that went to Shantou for a friendly tourament in the 50's. Upon returning, the entire team were put in jail on charge of being "communists" by those pooppy police.
